Every maker hears many of the same questions over the years about their business practices. As this is an artist website, and not an e-commerce site for direct sales, these questions are related to my work and general service questions.
Can I purchase directly from Bee City Studio?
Most of my work is currently available through curated collections carried by local shops. A small selection may occasionally be available through Etsy or special online events.
Do you create custom pieces?
Sometimes. I enjoy collaborating on special projects when time and materials allow. If you have something in mind, feel free to reach out.
I have had customers reach out after buying new clothing for a vacation (or season change) and ask me to design things that will coordinate. with their new wardrobe. They send pictures, I make their pieces. I also have customers who need earrings converted to clip-ons.
It's always rewarding to help people feel their best by wearing something special I have created for them. If you have a need, you can message me through Facebook.
Are your pieces one-of-a-kind?
Many are one-of-a-kind, while others are created in very small batches. Even when designs are repeated, natural variations and hand-finishing techniques make each piece unique.
Do you repair jewelry?
Yes, I repair costume jewelry, sometimes called fashion jewelry. I do not repair fine jewelry or precious-metal pieces.
Over the years, I've learned that the value of a piece isn't always measured by its price. A favorite pair of earrings, a gift from someone special, or a piece tied to a cherished memory can become priceless to the person who wears it. Because of that, I approach each repair with care and attention to detail. If you have a piece you'd like me to look at, please contact me through Facebook to discuss the repair.
What materials do you use?
My work incorporates a variety of materials including metals, leather, wood, beads, found objects, natural elements, and mixed-media components. How I use them depends literally on inspiration, more than my process or skill. There is a delight in using familiar materials in unexpected ways.
Where can I find your work?
Visit the Find My Work page for current shop locations and collection information.
If I purchase from you online, where can I find your business policies?
Because this is an artists website and not meant for direct selling, I don't list my online sales policies here. However, when you shop on line they will be readily available to address shipping, returns, payment options and other information that might be important to you as an online purchaser.
